I think you're right about the similarity between english and chinese ancient language when it comes to verses or poems. I sometimes feel modern chinese is less powerful in expression, less neat and tend to be prolix ' w% P- r2 ]1 {/ P4 c* l# q6 W( W0 }! {1 `8 T$ v
