I think you're right about the similarity between english and chinese ancient language when it comes to verses or poems. I sometimes feel modern chinese is less powerful in expression, less neat and tend to be prolix ( R3 |( t5 |3 D3 _2 f9 O( t4 Q5 A1 C! L% p3 ~7 V# Y2 r9 R' a
